Black Hills 100K
The Black Hills 100, produced by Lean Horse Productions, is South Dakotas second ultra marathon. The event will include three trail races; a 100 mile, 50 mile and 100k. The races will be run on a portion of the Centennial Trail, a 111 mile ribbon of singletrack traversing the Black Hills of South Dakota. All three races will start in Sturgis at Woodle Field/Track, and proceed 1.3 miles on the city bike path before connecting with the Centennial Trail. From the Ft. Meade TH, runners will follow the trail south and begin their climb into the Black Hills, eventually reaching their respective turnaround points at TBD (50M) Dalton Lake TH (100K) and Rapid Creek TH (100M) and then returning to finish at Woodle Field/Track. There will be 6 major aid stations on the out and back course located at the following trailheads; Alkali Creek, Elk Creek, Dalton Lake, Nemo, Pilots Knob and Rapid Creek.
